It is sad that people have to go to great lengths to try to end their freedom in such ways. Not to mention their health or life.

yea, they usually have to deal with people having their belongings stolen so some druggy that won't work can get their fix. The judges also get to deal with paternity cases where some women trade sex for pills and get a little something they weren't counting on.

well everybody doesnt go to the doctor and sell all there pills or take them all the same night they get them some people take them how they are prescribed there is nothing wrong with going and gettin meds from doctors its illegal to get them and sell them to buy other drugs and that makes it harder for cancer patients and other people who really need them to get the help they need

I agree with Patient about having legitimate reasons to see a doctor for pain. The stigma is so bad, that when you go to the pharmacy to fill your pain med prescription, it seems that you are treated like everyone thinks you are a druggy or something. I have never made a trip to Fla just for pain pills, but my family doctor feels i need them along with other medicines, right here at home. I hate the feeling that the pharmisist and clerks, plus other customers look at me like I've done something wrong.

I read the story and 11 out of the 15 already caught are just in their twenties. Why would kids in their 20's need these medicines and why would a doctor prescribe to them? I know the answer...they are druggies and also dealers and its people like this that do make it so hard for those that truly need medicine impossible to get.

if drugs werent illegal user would be allowd to work and their pills or whatever would be affordable like every other legal addiction they would not have to steal or trade themselvs to keep it up. read up on portugal if you dont think legalization works.

how do you people know that some young people don't need pain meds due to pain? I know people that have accidents that have left them in pain for life and other reasons, maybe they should hire you to weed out the ones that are faking it!!lol!!! And for cancer patients, I knew a few people that had cancer and died from it and others that lived after cancer and they always get the meds they need to stay out of pain, if you know someone that has cancer and their dr will not give them pain killers then you need to give that IQ of yours a good work out and advise them to get a different dr. I have a family member that had cancer, surgery to remove it, and chemo and they never needed a pain pill out of nothing but pure will power and prayer. But you aren't any better than the people you talk about looking at you weird if you can sit back and say that a person's age is any indication of their pain levels.

What a stupid comment? And where did you get your medical licence? A cracker jack box? I teach primary and in my 17 yrs. I have seen children with terminal cancer, neurofibromytosis,
heart conditions, multiple sclerosis, juvenile rhematoid arthritis, etc... And these are the ones I can roll off the top off my head...Must I tell you these CHILDREN needed serious and strong meds.... And they were LITTLE....Not teens. I didn't have to ask them if they were in pain-I could see it in their eyes. You need to google childhood illnesses that follow through to adulthood...I hope God spares your children/grandchildren/g.g.chi ldren backlash from your foolish comment...

I agree that the pipeline from Ky to Fl needs to be shut down. You can go to Fl any day of the week and see people from Menifee down there. The reason is because the dr's. there hand out prescriptions for pain pills to anyone and everyone. Then the people can haul them back up here and if they get pulled over they get off scott free because the prescription is in their name. People who need pain meds need them and should be able to get them. However, they should never be legalized and made easier to get like "huh" said in above post. Prescription pain pills are one of the most addictive drugs out there. They are also the hardest to get off of. I should know I have a brother who is battling this addiction right now. Pain pill addiction is compared to Meth addiction. Methadone, ever heard of it. And as "huh" said if the drug was legalized then addicts would be able to get it easier and not have to steal from people, and that they could hold a job to pay for their addiction. Think again my friend. A person high from pain pills can not work. They can not function. It would be impossible for them to hold a job. Apparently you are one of two things, IGNORANT or, AN ADDICT YOURSELF.
I'm glad these arrests have been made, but we are fooling ourselves if we think this problem could be cleaned up and gotten rid of. It is such a huge operation. I had no idea how many people sell, buy or are addicted to this stuff until we found out about my brother.

I understand that people have legitimate pain and get hooked on pain meds because they have to take them for awhile but when they DON'T need them any more they keep on taking them. For God's sake man up and get off of them. You choose to stay addicted and whine that I got hooked because I needed them. Sweat it out and get over it!

I'm not talking about cancer patients and those with crippling diseases who can't function without them. I'm talking about the ones who go out and steal to get dope, or sell their food stamp card or buy pop to sell with their card to get enough for a pill.
You're just too f***ing weak to do what you need to do. I have family members who are addicted and I have nothing but contempt for them. They would steal from someone in their own family instead of trying to get off and stay off of pain pills.

I feel bad for the ones who have to take them and get treated bad because everyone assumes they are druggies/dealers. The problem is that Drs can't distinguish between the ones who can't have a normal life because of the pain and the druggies.

Do ya really think it would be a good idea to legalize drugs?(morphine, oxycoton, xanax) They are for the people who REALLY need them not the addicts who THINK they need them. You think someone zombified out of thier mind can hold a job or not hurt themselves or someone else on the job. You can't tell me no one will give ya a job. You can work in tobacco, shovel out horse stalls, do actual work to pay for your habit. Don't go and steal off of hard working people to get your high. You got your self this way now if ya wanna keep the high pay for it your self not everyone else.
