The Free Soil school board approved selling 40 acres of school forest property for $40,000 after holding a public hearing on the issue that did not attract members of the public.

A 23-year-old Fountain man was arrested by Mason County sheriff's officers and detectives during the weekend and arraigned Monday for breaking and entering at the Heidi Hof Restaurant in Free Soil.
