Information booth in Fredonia given.....

Well the old saying is always right you get what you pay for.The booth (take a look yourself) was done with very bad prep work. Still alot of cvracks that were never caulked and alot of rot that was painted over.Nice guys I'm sure with nothing better to do. Being a contractor I find 8 out of ten people cannot paint. There is also very crooked lones where the change of colors meet. If you look close you will see that they basically white washed it (painting thin).We thank them but who will paint it again next year . A pro job would definitely last8-10 years.My cost would have been 4-600 dollars. That would be charitable for the village. Ater all you only get what you pay for..."it looks the same as it did before it was painted" now where did the word vibrant come from????

I have painted my entire life and my hat goes off to these do good doers. But do good where you know what your doing.Wash windows,do windows,trim trees .do trees etc.I and some locals looked over the info booth and you can almost see thru the paint here and there. Not applied heavy enough,bad cut-ins(windows & door)and trim. Numerous spots of missing paint,very poor preparation as far as sanding,scraping and removing rot.If only they had one person who knew what they were doing they could have checked for all this bad worked and fixed it up before claiming good job and job done.All our tax money and this will have to be done again soon. Why not hire reputable painter so that the job would last for a least 7 years.

Why does this little town always cut corners.Thats not a paint cover it would have been the same to wash it down becasue it looks no different. My crew working by the parks spent several afternoons taking lunch there. My rookie 18 first noticed the need for a paint job. I gave him his test right there(6 months temporary until proven)He pointed out what he felt the job needed.Out of 30 questions he only missed 4 which had to do with chemical reactions in paint.3 wks. later we're down there and we could not believe that this job had been done so bad.I hope your village did not pay for this work because you should get a refund. The mass majority CANNOT paint and those are gov. stats.Have you noticed how good Dunkirk is looking lately? The tables are turned. Maybe you can use this crew to shovel snow or something

I definitely agree with Bill someone did waste there time and I hope this time was free for the villagers. If you look around the 2 parks they have never looked this bad. The drinking fountains were Not turned on until June 1-3,those $300. benches Pagano put out are in bad need of fresh clear coat just like the old fashioned balck light post are rusting & need work & paint(stupid idea to have installed them).The former were maintenance free galivinzed or stainless.I will not go on go down yourselfs and take a look at theformer beautiful parks.WE NEED SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF THESE PARKS AN DEFINITELY GET RID OR WHOMEVER IS IN CHARGE NOW.THE PAST VILLGE BOSSES lASCOLA,BATTAGLIA,DEJOE ETC. TOOK PRIDE IN THE VILLAGE.Where does Boland fit in ??? I am told at City hall that he is in charge.Is this why the last 2 winters Dunkirks sts. finally surpassed ours. Wake up trustees your NOT doing your jobs ...
