Franklin man charged in robberies

Maj. Gene H. Drewery, Chief Deputy for the Southampton County Sheriff's Office, Travis J. Files, 27, is accused of robbing the Sunoco located in the 28000 block of Southampton Parkway around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Virginia man charged, 6 puppies die

FRANKLIN, Va. - Police have charged a Franklin, Virginia man with animal cruelty after six puppies were discovered in his shed, reported affiliate station WTKR in Hampton Roads.A All six American Bulldog puppies have since died from or been put down due to Parvo, a contagious dog virus.
