Freshman soloist shines during sparkling RSO event
From "Superman" to Strauss and Sousa, Richmond Symphony Orchestra really did offer a wide variety of music at Sunday's "Pops Potpourri" concert.
<![CDATA[Fountain City, Ind. - Helen Seider, 92, of Fountain City, joined her beloved savior on Monday, December 2. She was born June 18, 1921 in Richmond to Fred and Iva Allen Vornauf. She was a graduate of Whitewater High School. She married Robert F. Seider on July 10, 1949 and shared 42 years of marriage until his death on May 5, 1992. Mrs. Seider was a farm wife and homemaker. She also worked in bookkeeping at the former Second National Bank and People's State Bank. She was a member of the Fountain City United Methodist Church and the Levi Coffin House Association. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching. Mrs. Seider will be missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. "Bob" and Joan Seider and Richard A. "Rick" & Sandy Seider; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. Mrs. Seider was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Alice Englebert. A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery. Patricia Ann Poe
<![CDATA[CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Patricia Ann Poe, age 77, of Centerville, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 15, 1936, in Bicknell, Indiana, and lived in this area most of her life. Patricia was a homemaker and had formerly worked as a ward clerk at Reid Hospital and at Electrical Service Engineering with her husband. She was active in the Centerville Cares Latchkey Program. Patricia enjoyed puzzle books and reading. Survivors include her husband, David Poe, to whom she was married in 1959; daughters, Kimberly Jenkins of Centerville and Kathleen (Thomas) Perry of Fountain City; son, David Jason (Michelle) Poe of Centerville; grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua Perry and Katilyn and Sophie Poe; and great-granddaughter, Kaylie Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Andrew Lee Jenkins. Services will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
