Everyone needs to stay out of Juarez, family or not. So sad.

1 Guess he would still be alive if he had followed orders. His life was more important than going out and partying in a dangerous environment. |

And shame on the Daily Snooze for not reporting this story before KOB!

He should have listened! Americans should not be going over there!

I have family more south of Mexico and have been dying to see them but I'd rather be safe since I have a son now. I hope others (military members) who sneak into Juarez learn from this. My prayers go out to his son and the rest of his family.

Because KOB broke the story first with little or no background, I have to admit that I thought the worst of a soldier who would defy orders and go to Juarez. I am so very sorry I jumped to conclusions and thank ADN (!) for providing some much needed information. It is such a shame that this young man has to serve as an example for others to stay away and follow orders. The cartels mean business that's plain to see and Juarez is under seige.
BTW, they've been at this for more than a year. How long does it take to settle drug wars? |

My ONLY questions is;;;;;;
If he had permission to be in Juarez(You can get a commanders waiver to visit for a valid reason, like family). Which family member was he visiting in a strip club? IF the ADN story is correct, then he was in a STRIP CLUB when this tradegy took place. Heck, I won't even go into thos places in El Paso... Let alone mexico! I am troubled by this un-needed loss of life.. I am MORE troubled that he was in a strip club when it occured...... |

I thought about that too, but quickly realized that's no reason for him to be killed. In other words, the tragedy overtook the strip club issue. You are troubled for good reason though and we may never know how he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. |

Agreed.... I hate loosing another valuable member of our team... I hate it even more when it is needless like this. My troubles will remain until a further invistigation reveals what EXACTLY happened... I fell for the family, and wish them all the best But yea, just being in an establishment is no reason to have your life terminated..... It seems that he was an innocent statistic and an unfrotunate result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.... SO very sad |

How Stupid he knew he was not to be there! family or no family. What the Hell was he doing in a strip club anyway he was just asking for it. Poor stupid guy what, military training does the military train you to take any type of bullets. I know I have been there and I am dam lucky for not getting the same I was young and dum and stupid. I would not go over there unless one of my kids was in trouble, not saying they would do this, They have better sense I pray to God.

I agree that the cartels need to be put out of busines, but legalizing drugs is just cop out solution. If the Mexican government wasn't so full of corupt politicians and military, they would do the right thing and and take a strong arm approach. Burn the fields and surgical strikes on the strongholds. Until then, there will continue to be innocent lives needlessly lost. |
