The Trafford Veterans Memorial Bridge will close at 7 a.m. Monday as part of a bridge-replacement project that is scheduled to be completed in November 2013, the state Department of Transportation announced this morning.

Although the main thoroughfare from Monroeville to Trafford is closing for construction, the Port Authority of Allegheny County plans to continue bus service to Trafford for the next five months.

Forbes Road fire Chief Bob Rossati said a man, whom police did not identify, was injured after he was distracted at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday.

The Trafford Bridge will close on April 9 for reconstruction. The new span is scheduled to open in fall 2013.
