Developers plan $25 million resort, conference center
Construction of a $25 million resort, conference center and marina on Lake Winnebago near North Fond du Lac is expected to get under way this fall.
Developer Alex Zabel told the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation the resort will be the only one of its kind on the lake.
The hotel will accommodate more than 180 guests. The conference center will have more than 20,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space for 600. The marina will have 40 to 60 boat slips.
Zabel says the old Chaparral restaurant on the site will be demolished and crews will dredge the harbor. The complex could be finished in the spring of 2010. Read more
