No smoking in Florence City Parks

I strongly oppose the no smoking ban in Florence, We didn't even get to vote on this!!! Can our rights be taken away this quick? Well guess what Florence, Al I do get to vote. My vote is not to spend my MONEY here. You haven't made that a law yet now have you?

If you can't smoke in Florence they should not cell cigs or get tax money from them. Don't buy your gas or cigs in Florence.

It's not fun living here in a strict place ran by a bunch of idoits.

They will control you here I don't plan on retiring in a communist Florence.

During the recession is a bad move on their part. Decatur had to learn the hard way.

That's why its a small town, no one wants to live there .

They don't vote on things here, they just tell you what your gonna do. Haven't you heard. WERE NOT FREE ANYMORE!!!!

i think it is wrong that they banned smoking in public places in florence because before u know it we are not even gonna be allowed to smoke in our own home or our own car.... the law should make stores stop seling cig's and stop gettin taxes from them if we can not smoke where we please... i think yall really lost yall's marbles now more then u did before u banned smoking in public places.. oh by the way get ready to arrest alot of people cause they are not gonna put up with this yall are going to start a riaght..... down with the cops,,,,,

I find it ridiculous that they referred to this as "kicking smokers out". Nothing in this says that smokers are denied access to the parks. It only says they may not SMOKE in the parks. Same with the other affected venues.

The difference is a subtle form of incendiary propaganda.

Simple restrictions on when/where one may smoke. We also have restrictions on when/where where we may drink, drive going 60mph and have sex.

Itls just another reason why I drive right throungh Florence now, we are lucky we have so many small nice towms around us to buy from. Let these old people have Florence.

What is the difference between smoking and drinking? Why not ban that? People kill me when they don't smoke but, they drink all I hear is your lungs well what about your liver and your brain cells on that just hit the spot didn't it? I had someone once say to me have you heard what 2nd hand smoking does. Well yeah I have and that is why I do first hand.I live in the country and as far as RIGHTS everything is being took away from us. That proves someone in the office is a dirty scum as far as nonsmokers you have rights also you have the right to stay away from smokers if you don't like what they are doing.

What a shame it is to elect an offical to a public office to later find out they are mentally ill.!

Just don't smoke. I know that is hard for an addict to think about, but just don't smoke.

By the way, if you did not smoke, your children would have had a MUCH nicer Christmas. You would not have to lie and say that the reason there are no presents under the tree is that you shot Santa because you thought he was an intruder. You would also not have to suck down the booze because you felt guilty that the only thing your children got in the stockings was foot odor.

And that's what the bans are all about...helping to keep a separation between those that want to live and breathe easier, and those that enjoy killing themselves with their individual habit.

Remember, your individual activities, should remain just that.
When in public, keep you foul language to yourself, keep your clothes on, and keep your tobacco products at home or in your vehicles!
