June 24th festival kicks off today in Florala

Today will kick off Florala's annual June 24th Masonic Celebration. It is the oldest consecutive Masonic event in the nation, and this year's event will mark its 139th anniversary, said Lamar Mitchell, event organizer.

I would like to thank Lamar Mitchell for making the 24th June a great celebration. I live out of state now and bring my kids to the 24th every year. My children enjoy doing the kid activities. I hope whooever and if someone does take his place will do as good as job as he has done over the years.
