STAUNTON TWP., Miami County - Firefighters from four area fire departments spent four hours on the scene of an overnight house fire at 5725 Stringtown Road northeast of Troy that destroyed the home causing more than an estimated $100,000 in damages.

A former teacher and coach pleads guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A house in Miami County was damaged in a fire late Thursday morning. The fire happened around 11:30 a.m. at 8575 Union-Shelby Road, which is near the village of Fletcher.

The owner of Brel Aire Bowling Lanes near Piqua pleaded no contest to a felony charge of attempted money laundering and agreed to forfeit about $50,000 state and local authorities seized in a gambling raid.

Two Milton-Union schools Middle School teachers have resigned after students allegedly found them engaged in sexual conduct in a school classroom.

A Milton-Union schools teacher and soccer coach has been charged with contributing to the delinquency or unruliness of a minor for what police call inappropriate text messaging to a 17-year-old. Manuel A. Perez, 42, of Fletcher will be arraigned June 17 in Miami County Juvenile Court.
