Who were we going to elect? Fuzzy? Please, she's the best thing that's happened to Fitchburg in many years. She didn't get us into the mess we're in, but she's our best hope of getting out of it.

Those of us without such small minds understand that things could be far worse than having a few lights shut off.

Couldn't agree more. Perhaps if Donnelly had declared his candidacy more than 5 days before, he'd have gotten more of the vote.

Not surprised but disappointed. I didn't vote for Wong but when I saw the low voter turnout, I figured it was going to go in her favor.
Gosh only knows what more draconian cuts she will make to this town.

No, in fact; it is business as usual for you disrespectful idiots.

I am glad to see that people understand the situation that we are in here in Fitchburg. With more cuts imminent from the state budget we need someone who is going to do what is right for the city. I just wish that our more vocal citizens would focus on something more productive than street lights. I want to hear a loud public outcry if police, firemen, or teachers are cut. Those positions have much more of an affect on our safety than street lights. But, it seems when those cuts hit we quietly accept that "times are tough." Congratulations Mayor Wong. We are pulling for you to do well. Our city depends on you. However, be sure that those of us who voted for you will be watching and expecting you to do what is right for our city.

The people have spoken! Well, at least the ones that actually went in to Vote.

Mayor Wong might not be everyones first choice but we could do a lot worse.

Glad that Mayor Wong won easily. She was dealt a very bad hand going in to her first term and made the tough decisions that had to be made! Also noticed how great the previous mayor did in his race. Hopefully he will now leave the area for good after ruining Fitchburg!

What, "jtn" and all of the other geniuses who rant on here weren't on the ballot? If only, if only one of them had run; they have all the answers.
