Great. So anyone who depends on this bus for work is going to have to find another job?

This city is so fu**ed in the head concerning public transportation. Do they think that NY and LA make a profit on their mass transit? No. It's expected to lose money as a municipal service. It lowers the amount of traffic and the emissions, and increases job opportunities for people who maybe should not or cannot drive--not to mention trips to medical facilities, voting, etc.

People complain about drunk drivers and the elderly who should no longer be driving, but how the hell else can they get around? Getting a bus past 7pm is a joke unless they live on one of about 5 streets.

As long as we have an idiot like ballard in office, mass transit is a meaningless term in this "world class" village. But I want video of when the superbowl people come through and ask him about how people can get to the game without clogging the downtown area.

Why is it so hard to embrace the concept that we simply don't need mass transit in Indianapolis? When the federal grant funding these bus routes runs out just shut down the routes. Really, if Hamilton County wanted to provide bus service to downtown Indianapolis it could fund mass transit entirely on its own. It needs neither federal grants nor Marion County's IndyGo. Marion County property taxpayers shudder at the thought of billion dollar projects further impacting their property taxes. Huge libraries, new airports, gargantuan sewer projects, sports arenas; our politicians seem unable to restrain themselves from spending our money. I will vote no on the referendum for a new Wishard Hospital. I simply don't trust the bald faced lie that projects like this won't come back to raid my wallet. Its time to be more modest in our spending projections. Big projects are out.

Of course we need mass transit; this city is abominably laid out. So much of the industrial/employment area is separate from residential areas that the loss of mass transit would create far more unemployment than we have now.

Despite your rather naive approach to the subject, the simple truth is that not all citizens--tax-paying citizens, I might add--simply cannot drive or should not drive. The problem is in fact that the bus system here is not big enough; far more people would use it if they could get where they needed to wanted to go, especially at night. And like it or not, "world-class" cities are known for their efficient mass transit. I'm sure the super bowl people may raise objections to the fact that we can't get our people around safely to large events. As a matter of fact, I think I'll bring the matter to their attention.

If only the decision makers would get their heads out of their a-sses. They can waste $700M on replacing a football stadium that is used 20 times a year but daily getting people from here to there without a car? Forget it.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Pisces

You have a one track mind today, dear Pisces, and it's running along very ambitious lines, absolutely determined to achieve something you've been attempting for ages. Can you be so committed that you're prepared to let everything else go by the wayside for the time being? That's great, but don't become obsessive about it.
