I have been reading a good mystery, 'Starting Over.' I was delighted to find that it is written by local Bob McCurdy of Baileys Harbor and more so when I read the inside page and found that Jeanne Whildin of Jacksonport had done the cover illustration and editing.

It's that time of year again. The fifth-grade students at Southern Door Elementary School have been dancing, singing and practicing lines nonstop for their 37th annual Fifth Grade Musical, which kicks off Tuesday.

Stopping at the beach, I saw an eagle flying over. The ice is forming out on that point in Peninsula State Park.

Tuesday night was a nice night with the moon shining on the water at the town dock in Fish Creek - a nice night for January, but imagine going in the water.
