Sullivan Fire Department Receives $1,000 Grant Check from Shelbyville Wal-Mart

Captain Larry Edwards of the Sullivan Fire Department accepts a $1,000 grant check from the Shelbyville Wal-Mart. Edwards said that grant check will go towards the purchase of a new laptop computer that the department can take into businesses in Sullivan to do pre-plans and keep the community safer.

Jul. 25--DECATUR -- While the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is eager to find a new lease holder for the shuttered Eagle Creek Resort on Lake Shelbyville, under the best of circumstances, next spring is likely the earliest the facility could reopen, DNR Deputy Director Leslie Sgro said Friday.
