Fayetteville police investigate shooting death

Lt. Todd Joyce said officers were called to a home around 9 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a shooting. Joyce said 23-year-old Tyrone Alonzo Shepard of Fayetteville was shot during a holdup attempt and died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center early Wednesday.

Authorities: Fayetteville teen tried to sell stolen gun to deputy

Daniel Bollar, of Lieber Street, was taken into custody on Monday after he tried to sell a .380 Ruger pistol to an undercover sheriff's deputy who had learned via Facebook of Bollar's plan to sell the weapon. Investigators found the gun, which was reported stolen on June 1, between the passenger seat and console of Bollar's vehicle.

Aa ville man killed in accident

According to information released by the N.C. Highway Patrol, Dean Cooper, 53, of Autryville, was killed in the single vehicle accident that occurred on N.C. 24 near the Cumberland County line around 6:05 p.m. Monday. Cooper was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by Jeremy Johnson, 35, of Stedman.

Anthony Glover was standing outside a club at 4943 Bragg Blvd. just before 3:20 a.m. when a dark-colored SUV drove into the parking lot and hit the curb. Patrons in the parking lot began to exchange words with the driver of the SUV when someone inside the vehicle opened fire, police said.
