The 3rd Annual Fairmount United Memorial Day Festival is set to honor both those traditions.

For the third year, United Way of Gordon County and the City of Fairmount will hold the Fairmount United Memorial Day Festival and 5-K Run.

Luke Osbrink was honored with the Outstanding Spanish Student Award at a recent annual awards day ceremony held at North Greenville University.

James Doyle Moss, last known address out of Planiville, was arrested and charged with automobile theft after leading police on a high speed chase which ended in Bartow County, this afternoon, according to Gordon County Chief Deputy Sheriff Robert Paris.

A motor vehicle chase with speeds in excess of 100 mph at times ended Wednesday afternoon on Folsom Glade Road in the Adairsville area.

Larry Thomas Patterson, 42, of Fairmount was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of obscene telephone contact with a juvenile, according to the Gordon County Sheriff's Office.

Two Fairmount residents are in jail following a series of alleged burglaries in their hometown.

The third annual Fairmount United Memorial Day Festival will be Monday, May 28 beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting till 3 p.m. at Tate Park.
