Livingston County sheriff under investigation
Livingston County Sheriff Martin Meredith is being investigated for allegedly using a county-owned GPS unit to track an ex-girlfriend. Livingston County Board Chairman Bill Fairfield said Tuesday the GPS unit, which is normally used by the county's Proactive Unit police team, went missing but later turned up in Meredith's ex-girlfriend's trunk.

Man arrested after shots fired
A Livingston County man was arrested Thursday after firing shots in the direction of police officers and residents of a home near Fairbury.
Danielle Kaleigh Baker and Patrick Joseph Batta were married Oct. 1, 2011. Pastor Rick Spangler officiated at The Garden of the Parke Hotel in Bloomington, Ill. Parents of the couple are Michael and Laurie Baker of Fairbury, Ill., and Larry and Janet Batta of Lafayette. Attending the couple were Mandy Kaisner of Salida, Colo., and Mark Stahl of Normal, Ill., Also, Erica Knauer, Katelyn Baker, Myah Baker, Kevin Knauer, Payton Knauer and Greyson Baker, all of Fairbury, and Nicholas Batta of Indianapolis. The bride graduated from Prairie Central High School of Fairbury and Heartland College of Normal. The groom graduated from Lafayette Central Catholic High School and Heartland College in Normal. They are living in Fairbury.
