A former Robeson County sheriff's deputy was arrested on Monday and charged with stealing prescription drugs from a pharmacy while on duty as an officer with the Fair Bluff Police Department, according to the Columbus County Sheriff's Office.

Election officials in Columbus County will wait until they finish another recount to make a decision about investigating an election protest.

The 2009 Municipal Election results will become official Tuesday. Election officials across the state will canvass the votes from provisional ballots, one-stop votes, and those cast on Election Day.
