Fullerton is an idiot. Where is all this money going to come from? As a CPA, he should know better.

Are you planning to set up a printing press for money? What things will not be done to pay for your priorities? Lots of talk and no action!!!

Recessions do not last forever. Budget cuts are never permanent.

But nasty critics never change.

Mr. Fullerton,
Bringing back class size reduction, opening the EHS pool and restoring bus service all take money. With mid year cuts coming and even more draconian cuts due to the state's budget crisis looming on the horizon - which programs should we cut to restore the ones you want to restore? Don't talk in generalities to secure your votes, provide some concrete ideas to show us what kind of leader you claim to be.

So putting Adult Ed and Zoe at Winship are costly and inefficient mistakes but putting the 6th grade there for one year wasn't. You voted for the 6th grade fiasco, how many students left the district because of that great decision.

No one should be allowed to be on ANY School Board for more than 8 years. Fullerton has done his time and change is needed!

First of all, he did not say this was going to be done this year Bernie. Like Jeff E said, the recession is going to end, in fact the news said it has already ended. Don't you ever listen?

Oh Yeah, the teachers at Winship said putting the sixth grade students at Winship actually worked out great. The students loved it, the teachers loved it.

And Humboldt Native, I sure donn't see you volunteering to help ECS in anyway at all. Why don't you do something instead of yapping your trap?

Fullerton routinely did not read his board packet background material as was evident during years of little participation and inane questions at board meetings. He never visited the schools where he was a liaison. He is always quick to criticize but never has any alternatives. Putting money into the ongoing maintenance of a failing pool is not fiscally prudent. The state budget mess drives local school district budgets - it's not likely to turn around soon. There will be no magic pot of money to solve everything and restore school programs that have been cut. This is the new reality, folks.

This place is full of little internet cowards like you, spewing your lies & hiding behind anonymity. The Times Standard should require registration & people using their real names.

If your real name was used,"Truth" you would not have said what you just did.

Do not spend anymore money until enrollment goes up in a steady way.

Bleeding students and spending equals red balance, and cutting more programs.
Poor John; he has been influenced by a militant union? My high school NEVER had a NJROTC...

Also, we live in Humboldt Co., and rural education and charter schools, and "retirement community" means PERMANENT RECESSION.

Schwarzennegar even said it is a "Financial Armeggedon"

I've noticed a few things from these Eureka schools blogs.

It seems that the Gerdtz supporters are uniformally negative.

And, they all are identified by towns out of the area. Every last one of them. Also, they never comment on any other articles in the paper.

It appears the trolls are out in force.

Hey...Jeff "eeee" you are the one calling people names...how small of you.

What a goofy thought to think people from out of the area would comment on this issue; if you don't register the computer picks a town for you.

fullerton is the ONLY board member who stands up for the students and teachers, and isn't a rubber stamp for the superintendent. I have sat in many meetings where he is the ONLY one who is brave enough out of the whole bunch to want proof in the numbers they are preaching, then can come back with a more accurate report than what was given the week before. He has my vote, and many teachers votes in this district as well. Good Luck John Fullerton. And, thanks for the transparency. And there are several board member who have sat on the board too long....they do need to go!

Rubber Stamps??? What an insult. They are thinking people and do not take their decisions lightly.
Sometimes I think teachers take on the personalities of the students and become immature...or maybe they just do not like their jobs and are burned out. bitter. The union's newspaper is so mean.

Appears the insults thrown by Bernie, Oh Yeah & Wow didn't help their candidate any. The race was a rout.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
