A 501-C called 'Schoharie Recovery' has been providing workers and materials to fix up properties since two days after Irene struck.

Fred Breglia, executive director at the Landis Arboretum in Esperance, NY, works in the greenhouse with some hardiness zone 4, 5, and 6 plants, including Rhododendron Azalea Klovey and a Euonymus Japonica Rokujo.

Roughly four months later and Patty Eddy-Beal is back open for business. Picking up the pieces, though still unsure about the road ahead.

After Bonnie Fewtrell lost her Esperance home to flooding from Tropical Storm Irene, she was left with school and property tax bills totalling $3,000. That's a bill Fewtrell says she can't afford, on land that doesn't exist anymore.
