Dallas police say a man is holed up in a construction crane at Southern Methodist University after threatening to shoot campus police if they approached him.

Thursday afternoon just after 4 p.m., Idaho State Police investigated a three vehicle, fatal crash on State Highway 16 near milepost 10, just south of Old Freezeout Road in Gem County.

Gem County Dispatch is reporting a three-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 16, between mileposts 8 and 10 near Emmett.

Ahead of a Thursday, May 24, groundbreaking in Eagle, members of a new group have organized to petition development of State Highway 16.

The commute to and from Emmett may be a little slow paced starting Monday. Construction crews will be out five days a week, renovating parts of Hwy-16. They will be resurfacing the road and also waterproofing, sealing and replacing joints along the stretch of the highway from Hwy-44 to Substation Rd.
