Nevada has never had a "common-sense" argument against Yucca Mountain. Although Nevada doesn't have a nuclear plant, it gets much of its electricity from nuclear power plants. In addition, it gets more of its electricity from coal-burning power plants which deposit radioactive waste over wide parts of the nation, along with other toxic waste.
