there is a law pending about hit and run criminals. It makes passengers in such vehicles liable if they don't try to get aid for the victims. check out youtube.com under steven's law and josephdupont. Pa is also working on such a law . But NY is ahead on this . Please ask your state senator and rep to support Steven's law.

I HAVE BEEN MAKING YOUTUBES FOR WELL OVER A YEAR TRYING TO GET TINA PICKETT TO INTRODUCE A "STEVEN'S LAW" WHICH WOULD MAKE PASSENGERS IN HIT AND RUN VEHICLES CALL 911 FOR HELP. I WAS GIVEN A LETTER BY BOTH PENNSYLVANIA'S REPRESENTATIVE TINA PICKETT AND MATT BAKER THAT IT COULD NOT BE DONE. AND YET JUST THE OTHER DAY I DISCOVERD THAT THE COURAGEOUS NEW YORK'S REPRESENTATIVE THOMAS O'MARA HAS ALREADY INTRODUCED SUCH LEGISLATION. RIGHT NOW IT IS IN THE TRANSPORATION COMMITTEE. NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT TINA WILL INTRODUCE SUCH A BILL. WHY NOW?
I KNOW THE SAYING, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. BUT WHY NOW? I DON'T BLAME MATT BAKER FOR CO SIGNING TINA'S LETTER TO ME SAYING THAT IT COULD NOT BE DONE. HE WAS FOR SUCH A BILL RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING. IT IS JUST A SHAME THAT IT HAS TAKEN NEWS OF
THOMAS O'MARA'S BILL TO GET TINA GOING. AS I SAID FROM THE BEGINNING, I LIKE THE TINA I KNEW PRIOR TO THE DEATH OF STEVEN BACON. BUT I DON'T LIKE THE TINA WHO SEEMED TO COWER FROM THE CHALLENGE OF MAKING STEVEN'S LAW A REALITY. REGARDLESS OF HER CHANGE IN ATTITUDE ON THIS BILL, HER CHANGE IS WELCOMED.. BUT STILL I AM SAD FOR HER, BECAUSE SHE COULD HAVE RISEN TO GREATNESS AND HAVE BEEN A LEADER AND NOT JUST A FOLLOWER. IF YOU LIVE IN NY PLEASE ASK YOUR STATE SENATOR AND ASSEMBLYMEN AND WOMEN TO SUPPORT THIS BILL. PLEASE ASK YOUR GOVERNOR TO SUPPORT IT TOO AS WELL AS YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS. As many of you know, I am proud to represent the family of Steven Bacon. It has been one year since Steven was killed while riding his bike down Maple Avenue, Elmira NY. It has been a VERY long year for the Bacon family..

They have endured a missing son, the discovery of his mangled body on the side of the road, a heart wrenching funeral, and a long criminal trial where many painful facts were revealed. They had to suffer through the testimony of the drivers responsible for their sons death describing the cruel fact that although these drivers KNEW they had run down a person, they did not stop, they did not call the police, they drove away and left Steven on the side of the road

Steven, who was riding on the shoulder of the road, was hit at high speed by a driver, Kyle Bradley, who was dangerously passing another buddy of his, Andrew Zeller. Bradley and Zeller were on their way from Bernie Murrays Bar on the south side of Elmira to a party in Sayre, PA. Both Bradley and Zeller have a long history of trouble with the law. Mixing alcohol, speeding cars and drivers with no regard for the law is a dangerous, and in this case, fatal, combination.

My heart bleeds for Stevens Mom, Dad and family. No one should have to go through the hell they have suffered over the last year. My prayers go out to them.
