Jeffrey Zaslow, the West Bloomfield-based author who wrote best-sellers such as "The Last Lecture," about a professor dying of pancreatic cancer, and a recent book on U.S. Rep.

According to the Antrim County Sherriffs Department, Zaslow was killed in an automobile accident in northern Michigan Friday morning.

The department has posted a Winter Travel Advisory on its website that states although the wind advisory has been lifted, drivers should use extreme caution because freeways and exit/entrance ramps are icy.
