Feds close 'rodent-infested' food warehouse in western Wisconsin

This week Pioneer Press reported on a warehouse in Ellsworth, WI was seized after officials found several live rodents along with their nests and droppings in and around stored food.

Pierce County closes old Junior/Senior High School building in Ellsworth

The Pierce County Department of Health has ordered the old Ellsworth Senior/Junior High building closed Thursday and deemed non-occupancy status after FDA officials and U.S. Marshall seized contaminated food stuffs from the building Tuesday.

Investigators say a man who died last week was likely attacked by a bull. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department got the call just after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday after a neighbor found Dennis Churchill, 53, unresponsive in a barnyard at W1397 State Highway 72 near Elmwood.
