Arrest made in dog pound burglary
The man accused of stealing two dogs from the Rowan County Animal Shelter sits behind bars on animal cruelty charges after the dogs were discovered days later with cuts and deep puncture wounds allegedly caused by dog fighting.
A local veterinarian is giving medical attention to Holstein, the pooch stolen from the Rowan County Dog Pound April 12 and found this weekend chained up at a home near Elliottville.
Group takes stand against electric rate increases
An Elliottville man who is not happy about East Kentucky Power Cooperative's recent rate increase is taking a stand and he is not alone.
