Accidents slow traffic in Manatee County this a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported two vehicle crashes that may slow the early morning commute to work in Manatee County today.
Shortly after 6 a.m., there was a hit and run accident at U.S. 41 and Scott Avenue near Whitfield Estates. There were injuries, but no road blockage was reported.
Around 6:30 a.m., there was a vehicle crash on Interstate 75 at Mile Marker 222, south of the U.S. 301 Highway North exit in Ellenton. No details about injuries or road blocks were available.

Vehicle crashes near Outlet Mall and on I-75
There are traffic problems this afternoon near the Outlet Mall in Ellenton and on Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol reported at 5 p.m.
On Factory Shops Boulevard at 60th Avenue East iin Ellenton, a vehicle crash first reported to state troopers at 4:42 has left people injured and a roadblock in the intersection.
On the Interstate at 5 p.m., there are accidents in the southbound lanes in Sarasota County near Mile Marker 193, and in Charlotte County southbound near Mile Marker 170. Read more
