Sex offender charged with failure to register
A convicted sex offender, released from prison earlier this year, is back in jail after failing to complete a mandatory check-in with law enforcement, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.

Bill Hembree, age 77, of Forest City, NC, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence.
The Snyder Family Band will be in concert at 7 p.m. March 16 at Big Springs Baptist Church, Hollis Road, Ellenboro.
Edwards, a captain with the Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department, died Wednesday after a tree fell on him in a wooded area of Valdese in Burke County.
