Farm worker groups sue Hastings farmer, claiming slave-like conditions for workers

A Hastings labor contractor employed by Bulls-Hit Ranch and Farm was responsible for recruiting homeless Jacksonville men as workers, housing them in shacks and holding back their earnings to cover rent, food, alcohol and drugs, according to a federal lawsuit filed by two organizations that protect farm workers.
