"Mineville" movie green-lighted

I checked this mining movie out a few months ago on the site. Its looks like a good movie with a lot of history of the Mineville area and how things were for the men who worked for Republic Steel in this town. Many were immigrants and from what I understand it was a hard,backbreaking life. It would be great for us all to find out about our own history and how our families lived. So many of us had family that either immigrated or came from Vermont and other places to get jobs here. Many places in Mineville/Witherbee took in boarders from all over to work the mines. Some of us have lost family in those mines. Our kids need to know something that was good about this area-something positive and this should give many of us insight to what it was like back then. I applaud the idea and I am anxious to see the whole idea come to the screen! Any one else have any thoughts on this? I think this would be a great adventure for this town and our families. It would be sooooooooo nice to hear positive thoughts on our area. There really are many good things.

I first went to the Press-Republican and got the basics-"Mineville the movie"-then I Googled it from there. Not a lot of info but enough to make me very interested! I think its exciting! What do u think? Anybody??????????

I agree. I think it will be great, and it is nice to have a positive perspective. I, for one, am happy to live here, amongst the mountains and lakes, but I know a lot of people see different. I can't wait to see it!
