Does anyone else remember the "special" handmade paddle (if you can call it that) that Mr. Barnett used for swats?

Did it have a duct-tape grip with holes drilled in it to cut down resistance? That's what ours had back in my day! You also got to sign it when you were paddled so it was covered in signatures! My, how times have changed! And it really wasn't that long ago!

That was the second toned down generation of paddle. He used to have one that just had a rounded knot (ball) on the end. This one would have made the inquisitors in Spain smile with glee. He was a hell of a crafts teacher though. |
