After 3 1/2 hours of deliberation Friday afternoon, a Laclede County jury exonerated Douglas E. Duerden, 57, of Eldridge, on both charges brought by a special state prosecutor in an alleged shooting two years ago during a high- speed city-county car chase.

A tearful victim told Laclede County jurors Wednesday she thought she had been shot during a high-speed police chase in April, 2007, but that police officers scoffed when her sister-in-law inquired, and jail personnel told her she had been hurt by a Taser.
