$100.oo a ticket

Have a good time. Ticket costs sure have risen.

This reminds of past Rock-n-Roll concerts. Good concerts and good times.

If you had saved $5 bucks per year since they were last here, you would be going. :-) One less trip to Chico's or Jack in the Box per year.

The only reason the show sold out was the force fed name of the band. Wal-mart being the instigator. AC/DC releases a Wal-mart only album with a heavy promotions campaign. Merchandise from stationary to clothing is sold. The cheap t-shirts with the bands logo is adorned in every school from elementary to college. The latest trend on being a rock star is also a contributor. Rockband and Guitar Hero have also pushed bands into children's mindsets. This gives the big impression that being a rock star is easy. The parents of these children have the money and whatever junior or little princess wants, they get. AC/DC sold out due to being fashionable. If they played here five years ago the ticket sales would not be as impressive.

I am a fan of the band but I am not a fan of jumping on the latest bandwagon.

Agree a fan since the 80's but these prices for a band whose members are way past their prime. Hate to say it but it should be the senior circuit.

Since it has become fashionable these bands play the same songs but shorten the songs and rush through them. This is what I don't like and the gouging of supporters. I am a supporter but $100.oo. If it was Vegas sure but here it is too much. Here they will not put the same show and it will be shorter. Still Rock-n-Roll rules...

The first time AC/DC played here Bon Scott carried Malcolm Young on his shoulders while Malcolm wailed on his mahogany SG. Wireless technology was still pretty new, and Bon carried Malcolm from the back of the coliseum, through the crowd on the floor, with more than a few beefy roadies clearing a path... It was awesome!

Scattered seats remain for the AC/DC show at Ticketmaster.com . Search for 1 ticket at a time. They won't be together if you're going as a group. This is your last chance to see the boys from Down Under. Given that it took 21 years to come back to El Paso, this might be your last chance too!

As far as bandwagon, this band has been rockin' for nearly 40 years! Their fan base has been loyal, and their musical style has been consistent, never changing to the lastest fads (i.e.'90s grunge). Complain if you want, but AC/DC is worth the price of admission!

For those about to rock, see you at The Don this Sunday night!

First @ "not interested"
ACDA is popular because of their body of work not because their last record was a "WalMart release".
They still sell out everywhere, and did so here in 4 hours.
Maybe if they had been here a few years ago it would have taken a day or 2 or even a week does it really matter, it's still an incredibly fast selling show even if it takes 2 weeks.
Read the above 200 million records sold worldwide.

@ "bee" that was the Highway to Hell tour.

@ Stonesaholic Bon Scott carries Angus Young.
Angus plays the Gibson SG, Malcolm plays a Gretsch.

Why if it were in Vegas would it be a better deal? I am sorry but this is the reason most bands do not come here anymore. Them coming here actually saved alot of people the money of having to travel to another "larger city" to see them. I wonder how many dollars are coming in from out of town and I am not talking about Las Cruces.(Study please El Paso Times?) When we went to see Tom Waits (a much smaller show in comparison I know but just as monumental) I met people from all over the U.S. and it made me feel great about our town. Maybe it takes something like this to show the managers of other large acts that El Paso can and will support them just like the other big cities do. And BTW you are correct about the show that they put on here being the exact same show as all the others. I just heard that there is a loyal group of followers currently petitioning the band to change up the set list because they are following them from show to show and there is no change up. So I am not disagreeing with you totally. I just think if we want to get the great acts here we have to pay just like the other cities do.

$100 for a concert is not that much these days. I'm seeing KISS tomorrow night and those tickets are around $130. AC/DC played Vancouver late last year and 15000 tickets sold out in 4 minutes, a record for GM Place. They came back again a couple months ago to play BC Place Stadium across the street. 50,000 tickets sold out in under one hour! It was the most diverse crowd I've ever seen. Kids younger than 10 years old were there with their parents. A far cry from when I first saw them in 83 when it was an arena full high school guys in jean jackets!
To Bee, Hells Bells, on Back In Black, was released after Bon died. Perhaps you mean Highway To Hell tour? To Stonesaholic, Bon always carried Angus, not Malcolm, on his shoulders!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Sagittarius

It's difficult to keep your mind on what you're doing today because it keeps wandering off in all directions. There won't be much you can do about this except to be aware of it, and preferably to postpone doing anything very complicated or important until you're less distracted and absent-minded. Unfortunately, you won't get very far with it at the moment.
