Man gets probation in murder, aggravated assault

Mr. Esparza prosecuted a killer of a young girl who was taken away from Walmart a few years ago. He won the case and got a lot of publicity. I am glad that this horrible man was put in jail. I feel deeply sorry for the family of the young girl. I pray that they may be able to start healing. They will never recover completely.At least the killer is out of the streets. He will never kill another innocent victim again.
The only reason Mr. Esparza and the other DA's and judges got serious with this case was because people of El Paso county spoke up. We all wanted justice for such a cruel crime.
My brother's death was not well known to the people of El Paso. There was not much publicity. Mr. Esparza and his DA's didn't have the urgency to fight with all their might since it was not a well known case. They made it seem that my brother was more of a John Doe someone that no one will speak up for him. Mr. Esparza and the unprepared DA's saw my brother like another number not a person who touched so many life's. El Paso we need to speak up for justice and get those 3 killers out of our streets.We the family can't start the healing process knowing that the killers are out free. What kind of judicial system do we have that allows killers free? It needs to change and we the people need to speak up because next time it might be someone else brother, father, or sons life taken away. We need someone with a heart to fight for the Lopez's family.The killers didn't only kill my brother, but they have also killed us. Speak up EL Paso!!!!

well, he didnt really kill that man... if he was such a great man and tried to protect his family how come he didnt take his kids inside? hmm.. and they brought out a gun and shot it? hmm now one really knows what really happened that night only the few that were there... i am sorry for his family i truly am but this gentle man you are talkin about is a good friend of mine and im know he didnt do nothing your attention should be pointed to sanchez..... this man was jus at the wrong place at the wrong time

Why couldnt i get this judgement when i assaulted a police official in El Paso?? all i got was 5yrs in prison and came out in 3... i want that guys lawyers name for my next assault.:)

Sorry for correcting your ignorance but court transcripts clearly have fernando lopez testify that he ran inside to get his BB gun because his dad asked him for it.

El Paso, remeber the judge and the DA. If you elect them again, it could happen to you. I can't beleive that this demon pleaded guilty and all he got was 10 years probation. This sends a strong message to all inpiring murders in El Paso. Its OK to take someones life, all you are going to get for it is probation. Does this mean that someone can go and kill the DA's and the judge's relatives and walk away with only probation? Don't expect the crime in El Paso to get any better. The outcome of this has insired a lot of criminals to kill innocent people.

mexicans sucks, sadly i agree with you. not about the jury but we as mexicans need to pay more attention to the b.s. going on. this kinda stuff happens all the time and no one says anything. time to step it up. not in a "lets start a revolution" manner just make ourselves heard.

My uncle was a good father, He was always at his boys football and basketball games. He raised them alone and did a damn good job. I was always very proud of him. I admired him. We miss him and love him very much.

What I want to know is how Michael Vick gets 7 years for killing dogs and this man gets ZERO, ZILCH, NADA for killing a HUMAN BEING! This country is overrun by special interest groups (PETA etc) that are interfering with common sense. STOP THE MADNESS! Get educated and vote and get these idiots out of office!
