The Semi-Triumphant Return of the Prairie Chicken
Happy news from Prairie Chicken Land, aka Wah'Kon-Tah Prairie in far western Missouri, just outside El Dorado Springs: The prairie chickens that workers from the Missouri Department of Conservation captured in Kansas last year and transported east are alive and booming and, best of all, reproducing.
The girl had disappeared and her family contacted police. When she was found on Sunday, she was not pregnant and did not initially cooperate with investigators.
Burying beetle to be reintroduced in Missouri
The St. Louis Zoo, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and conservationists announced plans Tuesday to reintroduce around 600 American burying beetles in a southwest Missouri prairie near El Dorado Springs.
4 Arrested In Barton County For Car Theft
Four people are in custody in Barton County for stealing two cars. The Sheriff's Office tells News Talk KZRG 30-year-old Jarred Austin of El Dorado Springs, 32-year-old Stephanie Grahm of Kansas City, 32-year-old Kenneth Werner of Kansas City and 32-year-old Jonathan James of Kansas City stole a vehicle in Kansas City last Tuesday, then stole ...
