Edgewater seeks solutions to crowded boat ramp

One launch site in NSB, one in Edgewater, and one in Oak Hill. All overcrowded on weekends, and almost impossible on holidays.

NSB's suggestion? Charge a fee.

Yep. That'll solve the problem.

they could just raise property taxes.......again. this could be a good excuse.

NO... What they need to do is only charge the commercial boaters like YOU so the rest of us can launch our vessels safely

Fair enough. But the safely part? Half the recreational boaters neither know on which side to pass, nor have any idea of proper etiquette at the ramp. OK. Not half, but it alny takes a few to slow everyone down. For those who do, thank you. I'm sure you get as frustrated as I.

It's not the first boat to the ramp that gets trailered, it's the first trailer to the ramp gets a boat (or launches). I can't count the number of times I've seen a boat pull in and block the ramp while the owner goes to get the trailer, thus holding up launch traffic or cutting in front of those who are waiting for their trailer.

BTW: I haven't launched in Edgewater in 15 years, and only launch in NSB recreationally.

Why did the [city] revamp that park anyway ? Just more money for upkeep, maintenance, etc... Guess who is gonna foot that bill ! Guess they'll claim it was grant money huh...
