The S.C. Highway 901 bridge over Fishing Creek between Edgemoor and Lando was closed Monday night because of a sinkhole "as big as a Volkswagen." The sinkhole was not at the bridge, according to the S.C. Department of Transportation.

Christmas actually starts in February to a family business in Edgemoor. Or at least the effort to raise money to buy bikes to distribute them to needy children in Chester and York counties for Christ-mas. But that effort isn't going as good this year as it has in the past.

The words said Tuesday, Aug. 25, were the same ones uttered on Aug. 25 in 1949. And on each and every 25th of every month in between.

Current senior meal programs in Edgemoor and Fort Lawn will continue at those sites, but service sites in Great Falls and the Chester area have not yet been finalized.
