Jeff Floyd won't take his new position as County Extension Agent Horticulturist for Ector and Midland counties until June 1, but he said he's anxious to begin his new job.

The Ector County Commissioners Court tabled a budget item regarding a one-year rent abatement for FarMor Aviation Inc., Monday morning that would have allowed the company to buy new furniture for the new fixed based operator in exchange for one year's rent.

The fifth grade students at Ector Elementary recently participated in a collaborative educational experience in an essay and poster contest sponsored by and B.E.E.S of Fannin County and Texas Agrilife Extension Service.

The call came in from the 3300 block of Ector about 4:43 p.m., according to the Beaumont Fire Department .
