Copper wire thieves are keeping AT&T workers busy repairing lines in four more Fresno County areas where phone and Internet service may have been disrupted for as many as 875 customers, the communications company said.

Sheriff's deputies are targeting wire thieves who are turning to a potentially deadly new way of stealing valuable copper in rural areas: knocking down utility poles.

We haven't even reached Summer and already there's been several drownings in the Valley.

They were trying to save a 22-year old Hispanic man whom investigators say was drinking alcohol with friends when he decided to jump in the water to cool off.

A 22-year-old man drowned in a ponding basin east of Easton this afternoon, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
