A pair of bands with Bleckley roots will be part of a June 1 benefit for country singer Nick Malloy, son of 13WMAZ anchor Frank Malloy, who is recovering from injuires sustained in a March 28 auto accident.

An Eastman man was arrested Tuesday after an armed standoff in which he threatened to kill Dodge County sheriff’s deputies, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

A fatal fire in Eastman has claimed a woman's life. It happened in the 5600 block of Bacon Avenue around 12:30 Sunday morning.

The Dodge Baptist Association is hosting "Out of the Darkness", a 5k run / 1 mile walk on May 12, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. The race will start and finish at the Dodge County Courthouse located at 407 Anson Ave in Eastman.

What will be decided, probably Wednesday, will have a tremendous impact on this area of the state.

On Saturday, January 25, 2012, the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government facilitated a community leadership group meeting at the Eastman-Dodge County Chamber Of Commerce Hall.
