I've recently read for the first time Walter Van Tilburg Clark's The Ox-Bow Incident , a novel thought to be the first anti-Western, and one I'd never gotten around to reading.

A trip to the farmers market in Orono last weekend netted us broccoli, lettuce, mint, goat cheese from Olde Oak Farm in Orono , a wonderful three-seed bread from Bread Box Bakery in East Orland, and garlic scapes from Double Bit Farm in Unity.

There will be fun, food and even a little frolic today at the 34th celebration of Orland River Day.
