Rosenwald school still imparting lessons
In a county known for cherishing its impressive history, it was heartening to see the 14-year effort to refurbish and reopen the Columbia Rosenwald School building finally come to fruition.
Historic school returns as children's museum
Leroy Diggs, a former student at the Columbia Rosenwald School, gets a hug from volunteer Emma Womack. Share Share Resources East Columbia's Rosenwald School will begin a new life today as a children's museum at its new site at 247 E. Brazos in West Columbia.
It's been close to 70 years since first cousins Leroy Diggs of East Columbia and Tenola Franklin of West Columbia first climbed the steps of the Columbia Rosenwald School.
