Wow, that was close. Thanks, Republicans. Good move on your part on giving tax breaks to the wealthy. I hope you had a good day at the cabin on your boat. While you selfish rich people are living in complete oblivion to the rest of the world, our infrastructer is literally falling apart.

Thank goodness no was hurt! My fear is because this is a poorer part of town, the bridge will close and be closed for years as they search for money to replace/repair it. Ask the people of the east side how long it took to get the Edgerton street bridge fixed.

Personally, I think the St. Paul Port Authority and the owners of the new warehouses by the Kmart should fund the new bridge. This bridge has been in an established residential neighborhood until the Port Authority opened its business park and added several distribution warehouses. Now this bridge is the access point in and out of the business park to the freeway. The increased use - and weight - is obviously taking a toll on this older bridge.

Is Minnesota on its way to becoming a land of 10,000 falling bridges? With all the smarts we supposedly have here, why can we figure out how to keep our bridges safe? Why?

You and a few hundred thousand other people are asking the same questions, Manny. Hmmm, interesting how there are no falling bridges in wealthy suburbs. I wonder if it's just a "coincidenc?"

Would you be mad if you got taxed at a higher overall percentage than anyone else? The words tax break only means that the highest tax bracket was lowered. It is still a lot higher than the others, so stop complaining ... you are still paying a lower overall percentage of your income than those "filthy rich" republicans are.

Manny:
The groaning and squeaking coming from government dependentants and freeloaders is ten times louder than the squeaking and groaning coming from neglected bridges.
The Donkey and RINO"S party suffers from anal glaucoma and cant "see" spending money on infrastructure that does not vote and keep them in office.
For the last four decades the wrong people have been in charge of the "greasegun".

I'm glad everyone is alright. The MNdot brass just about had more lives to add to their bodycount. Remeber, This is AFTER they inspected the bridge less than a year ago.
