Hefty mill levy over 10 years probably at root of unfavorable vote
Last month, voters in the Teton County Hospital District - which encompasses about two-thirds of the county, excluding the Dutton and Power areas - soundly rejected a new 31-mill, 10-year property tax levy sought to help defray the expenses of operating the emergency room at Teton Medical Center, a 12-bed Critical Access Hospital in Choteau.
