' A Lakewood police officer was charged with embezzling more than $120,000 from a fund for families of four colleagues who were shot to death on duty then spending some of the money on trips to Las Vegas, the U.S. attorney's office said Wednesday.

LAKEWOOD, Wash. - A Lakewood Police officer who served as the treasurer of the Lakewood Police Independent Guild has been arrested for allegedly embezzling more than $120,000 from the Fallen Officers' Fund.

Interested residents have until Feb. 10 to file their applications for appointment to the vacant seat on the DuPont City Council.
