While I did not have the honor of knowing Justin personally I am very thankful for his service to this country and he will be remembered as a hero in my house. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

A Comfort Prayer to The Parents Of A Lost Soldier

I pray you find peace when you are troubled within.
I hope you feel love that will allow you to mend.

I wish that you will heal from your loss today.
He is only resting until you arrive where he lay.

May you find comfort when feel God can't be found.
Have faith that your son's spirit is always around.

Your loss became our Nation's Hero and sacrificed his life.
A Soldier of courage he fought a good fight.

Grieve as you must but remember he has a mansion of gold.
God has delivered him from earth's heavy load.

Your son paid the cost so that we might be free.
I extend my love to you and ask God to hear my plea.

To Justin's family: I appreciate his service more than I can say, and pray often for our brave soldiers facing such a ferocious enemy as the fanatical Taliban and Jihadists. We are free, and many Afghanis live free, because citizens like Justin chose to risk his life protecting us and our way of life.
My deepest condolences for your loss. We will not forget.

As a Vietnam era Vet, I grieve for our young men and women...
Nothing can bring them back to live the rest of their lives. Even those who return from war are never the same. What you see, and what you have to do to survive. When you have to take another humans life in defense of your life and the lives of your fellow soldiers. Every time we have to deploy our soldiers, airman, sailers and marines, we do irreperable damage not only to those we send, but to our society. When these young men and women come home, we do nothing for them to help them cope with what they had to do to defend our protected lives here at home. And when something is done, its not enough and its often done too late. My heart goes out to the family and all those who have had to serve even in peace time. All gave some, some gave all. Thats why its important we defend our rights here at home... all our rights.. just not the ones we choose to defend because it effects us. Vote, voice your opinion to our elected officials and be involved.. freedom isn't free and we trade our freedoms away every day wether you realize it or not. Don't let these young men and women sacrafice for nothing. You may not have worn a uniform, but there are things you can do.

Not only did the Iraqi invasion and occupation prove the limits of military power, it also exposed how incapable America has become at nation-building. Its postwar incompetence was stunning.

This is a story about a young soldier that was killed in action in AFGHANISTAN...not Iraq. By the way, America is not the only nation represented in the the Allied Forces.

What is keeping you here if you feel that your governement is so terrible? Why don't you leave?

This brave young man gave his life so people could voice different opinions, not just those in support of a government or of popular opinion. Otherwise, we are no better than the Taliban or the Iranians and other oppressive regimes that allow no dissent. The day that those who voice the unpopular are not allowed to voice their views, we all are in danger because who will question and create the discussion that is needed in a free society? We need not fear the unpopular, we need to fear the popular who will deny the rights of those who question at all.

Piddler, you will certainly create some comments. Your words, while inflammatory, have a right to be spoken. Followed, believed or respected totally is another matter. I will use my right to say your comments are in poor taste but opinions are like certain body parts...everyone has one. Whether you actually stand behind what you are saying or are just trying to raise some commentary while showing no class in describing a young soldier's death, you are the worse for it. You lessen the chance that any intelligent debate regarding your concern whether or not Iraquis or Afghans threaten our liberty is lost in your childish rants and name calling but while I do not care for your post, you do have the right to post it. Others also have the right to consider you an idiot.

Please let us know if there is an address that postal letters/cards can be sent to. The government and media and elite never have cared for our men and women in the military and only devote attention to them when it is either negative or beneficial to them in some way. However...there are citizens in this country who do care and especially those in the military family and we would love to send our support and respect to the families of these brave Soldiers. Jamie, amnesiac and myope, the only reason you're not speaking Japanese today is, primarily, because the US MILITARY fought and bled and died to prevent it. AND rebuilt the nation of Japan to boot.

No. They US defeated Japan by dropping atom bombs on innocent civilians. It proved so successful that they have pursued this policy ever since.
The US is not famous for nation building.
You should try to get out more.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
