Man guilty of threatening commissioners

A Dunkirk man accused of harassing one Calvert County commissioner and threatening another via a mailed package that included parts of a dead vulture entered an Alford plea to one of the charges and a guilty plea to the other on July 21, according to court documents.

(Breaking news) Driver killed in collision with officer in Dunkirk

One driver has been killed and a sheriff's deputy has been flown to a shock trauma unit in Baltimore following a collision at Apple Way and Route 4 in Dunkirk at 10:47 a.m. According to Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans, Deputy Wayne Wells of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office was responding to a domestic call when a car pulled into his path.

Police seek robbery suspect

A man used a gun to rob the Dunkirk 7-Eleven store Sunday around 1:30 a.m., and police are asking the public for assistance in tracking down the armed robber.
