"Kotts was accompanied in court by a Korean interpreter to ensure that she understood the proceedings. Kotts told the News Tribune that she came to this country from Korea in 1966. " - 49 years, and still can't speak English. No wonder she can't get the proper permits, or understand the laws.

The woman undoubtedly speaks English but it was probably the court that insisted on the services of an interpreter. It's unlikely that after 44 years in this country she cannot communicate in English. The court is being extra cautious and a bit xenophobic.

What do you think it costs us tax-payers to pay for these interpreters? You commit crime in a country where you don't speak the language, seems like a no-brainer you're in a lot of trouble ~ learn the language or straighten up and fly right. |
