Crash on I-580 near Castro Valley closes three lanes

A collision this morning between a big rig and a pest control truck on westbound Interstate 580 between Dublin and Castro Valley has caused major traffic delays, according to news reports.

The young man's name is Andrew Garrity. There was no other vehicle involved.

I have family that worked with this young man. I am told he was 21 years old,and a new father. Please help any way you can!

I'm saddened by his family's loss. I believe Andrew was the person who was supposed to come to my home that day to provide a quote...he didn't show up.
I later found that he had lost his life. My prayers go out to his family, friends and co-workers. I will send a donation to his wife. |

I knew Andrew and family from Cornerstone Youth Group. My heart just hurts for this family and their loss. Andrew was a lovely boy, with heart and kindness and always helpful and sweet. I am sorry his life ended so quickly but I thank the Lord that he's in heaven and one day we'll all sing praise and worshop again. My thoughts and prayers for the family.

I knew Andrew since we were young in school, he was really kind hearted. I can only give my condences to his family, and most importanly his baby boy. They're in our thoughts and prayers.

My heart goes out to his family. I witnessed the accident first hand and what I saw still keeps replaying in my mind. It truely was a horrific scene. His family is in my prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with Andrew's fiance', Jacquleen, their little son, William, and Andrew's family and friends during this time of loss.
My heart aches for you all but know that Andrew is not in any pain, and is now one of the Lord's angels and is surely watching over you all. God bless. |
